On September 4, 2014, I gave a lecture called “Subscribe to the American Museum” at the Wexner Center for the Arts at Ohio State University, as part of the Curator’s Talks series. On November 5, 2014, I gave the same lecture at the Neuberger Museum of Art as part of the State University of New York at Purchase’s New Media Lecture Series. The lecture focused on Triple Canopy’s Pointing Machines project, which was included in the 2014 Whitney Biennial, and the relationship between contemporary technologies and the reproduction of texts and sculptures as part of the formation of an American national identity in the early days of the republic.
